Microsoft Expands Edge for Business With New Enterprise Security Integrations
Microsoft Edge has steadily got new enterprise features over the past year. Now, another major update has arrived. This one is entirely about bolstering workplace security. The company has announced several new Edge for Business Security Connector integrations, allowing organizations to extend their existing security platforms directly into the browser.
Edge for Business Gets Major Security Upgrade With New Enterprise Partners
The biggest addition comes via Cisco Secure Access, which is now generally available for Edge for Business. The integration combines secure web access, data protection, and AI guardrails inside Microsoft’s browser. That means administrators can apply security policies directly where employees spend much of their workday.
Speaking of enterprise visibility, Microsoft is also bringing the Tanium Connector to Edge for Business. The new integration delivers real-time browser telemetry into the Tanium Autonomous IT Platform, helping IT teams monitor browser activity, improve compliance checks, identify browser-based threats, and reduce security blind spots across managed devices.
Education customers are receiving a dedicated improvement as well. Clever Classroom MFA TrustPass now works with Edge for Business to recognize trusted devices. Once verified, students and educators can avoid repeated multi-factor authentication prompts while maintaining secure access to school resources.
That being said, Microsoft’s broader goal extends beyond simply adding new integrations. The company continues positioning Edge for Business as the central location where existing enterprise security investments can work together. Rather than replacing third-party products, Microsoft is encouraging organizations to extend them into the browser through its connector framework.
The latest additions also expand Microsoft’s growing partner ecosystem. Cisco, Tanium, and Clever now join a broader list of supported enterprise security providers, giving businesses more flexibility when building layered security strategies.
