Less than 2 months after Microsoft debuted a new Forms app, the platform is finally getting a much-needed Excel integration, that is due to be released to the web version of the Forms platform in July 2024, according to the latest entry in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap.
But worry not, though: the Redmond-based tech giant is releasing a preview of this integration this month, so Forms and Excel users could get their hands on the new capability.
The integration between Forms and Excel comes in the form of a synchronization capability that might be mutual, but we’ll have to wait for the preview to see.
This means that Excel users can update their sheets with data collected from Microsoft Forms, and Forms users will be able to quickly build forms and quizzes based on existing Excel data.
The description for this capability is quite exciting, though: those who use Microsoft Forms to create quizzes will have access to the latest Excel data in doing so. The best part? It will update automatically, so users won’t have to worry about that part.
Microsoft Forms supports quickly and easily syncing form responses to an Excel file. Now you’ll always have the latest information, updated automatically, so you can leverage the full range of Excel functions to analyze your data and collab with your peers.

The Microsoft Forms x Excel could be a game-changer: Here’s why
Microsoft Forms is usually used to create quizzes and forms for companies to gather data about specific topics, from HR to marketing research, and so on. With every form, there will be hundreds to thousands of participants who will leave thousands of entries with a lot of important data.
With the Excel integration, data from these Microsoft Forms quizzes and forms will be processed easier and faster. Excel will automatically update sheets with data from quizzes, as long as the integration is enabled.
This could be a game changer due to speeding up the whole process and being able to manage the data gathered from these forms much more efficiently.
Something that can take up to days of work, could, theoretically, be done in just a couple of hours.
However, as we mentioned earlier, we’ll have to wait for the actual preview to see what this integration is capable of.
But what do you think about it?
