On May 16, 2025, Microsoft released a new hotpatch, KB5061258 (OS Build 26100.3983), an out-of-band cumulative update for Windows 11 24H2  Enterprise LTSC 2024. The update came after the monthly Tuesday updates, KB5058411 and KB5058405, rolled out on May 13, 2025.

An Out-of-Band (OOB) update in Windows is not a regular security or non-security update. Instead, it is patch or update released outside the usual update schedule, usually to address urgent and critical issues such as zero-day vulnerabilities, widespread bugs, or security exploits.

Like regular updates, KB5061258 will download and install automatically via Windows Update in Settings without human intervention. There is no need to access the Microsoft Update Catalog or WSUS (Windows Server Update Services) to install this patch.
