Microsoft has released a new batch of Dynamic Updates alongside this month’s Patch Tuesday security updates, bringing improvements to Windows recovery and setup components across Windows 11, Windows 10, and Windows Server, as Neowin writes.

The new releases arrive alongside the latest cumulative updates, including KB5094126 and KB5093998 for Windows 11 and KB5094127 for Windows 10. According to reports, the company has also refreshed the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool with the latest Patch Tuesday builds.

Dynamic Updates are designed to update Windows installation and recovery components before deployment. They also help preserve Language Packs and Features on Demand during feature upgrades, reducing the chances of compatibility issues during installation.

Windows 11 Receives Multiple Recovery Environment Updates

For Windows 11 version 26H1, Microsoft released Safe OS Dynamic Update KB5095185. The update improves the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) and upgrades it to version 10.0.28000.2269.

Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2 received Safe OS Dynamic Update KB5094149, which updates WinRE to version 10.0.26100.8655.

Microsoft also published Setup Dynamic Update KB5095971 for Windows 11 version 23H2. This package improves Windows Setup binaries and other files used during feature update installations.

In addition, Windows 11 version 23H2 received Safe OS Dynamic Update KB5094156, updating WinRE to version 10.0.22621.7219.

Windows 10 and Windows Server Updates Focus on Recovery Improvements

Windows 10 versions 21H2 and 22H2 received Windows Recovery Environment update KB5098815. Microsoft says this package automatically applies Safe OS Dynamic Update KB5094154 to WinRE on supported systems.

KB5094154 updates the Windows 10 recovery environment to version 10.0.19041.7417.

For Windows 10 version 1809 and Windows Server 2019, Microsoft released Safe OS Dynamic Update KB5094153, updating WinRE to version 10.0.17763.8880.

Meanwhile, Windows 10 version 1607 and Windows Server 2016 received Safe OS Dynamic Update KB5094152, which upgrades WinRE to version 10.0.14393.9234.

Updates Install Automatically Through Windows Update

Microsoft notes that both Recovery Dynamic Updates and Setup Dynamic Updates are delivered automatically through Windows Update. Organizations deploying Windows images can also integrate these packages into existing installation media before deployment.

The releases come as part of a busy Patch Tuesday cycle. Microsoft recently addressed more than 200 security vulnerabilities across its software portfolio, making this one of the largest security update releases in recent months.

In addition to the security fixes and Dynamic Updates, Microsoft has refreshed the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool so that new installations include the latest Patch Tuesday improvements and security patches.

Users can find more information about Dynamic Updates and Windows deployment servicing on Microsoft’s official documentation website.
