Microsoft Store's new home page design prioritizes new apps over installed ones

Microsoft recently rolled out the latest version, i.e., 22403, of Microsoft Store to the general public. It majorly involved app performance and speed improvements.

Another interesting feature related to free apps displayed on the home page was disclosed by Rudy Huyn, Principal Architect at Microsoft and Microsoft Store development team member on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account.

In the post, he mentioned that due to the new update, any applications or games installed via the Store on the computer will not be as visible as on the Store’s Home page.

According to Huyn, the feature is meant to help you discover new apps easily within the Microsoft Store. However, as Huyn mentioned, you can see the full algorithmic app lists by clicking on the modular title.

Lately, the Microsoft Store has been getting all sorts of updates. In March 2024, it added a What’s New section that shows the latest apps on the store.
