Just yesterday, Microsoft’s upcoming Surface Pro 13-inch leaked. Well, it seems Microsoft is too bad at keeping its new products under wraps, as its next Surface Laptop refresh has now leaked before its alleged mid-June launch.

Leaked marketing materials were first picked up by Winfuture, which reveal the upcoming Surface Laptop 8 lineup, with new ARM-powered models featuring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 processors. While the exterior design looks much familiar, the leaked specifications suggest Microsoft is serious about its new Surface Laptop. Speaking of Surface, let’s not forget that Microsoft recently also unveiled the Surface Laptop Ultra powered by the NVIDIA RTX Spark chip.

Surface Laptop 8 looks familiar design-wise, but plenty seems changed on the inside

The leaked marketing materials show that Microsoft is sticking with the same overall chassis design found on the current Surface Laptop generation. The signature minimalist look remains intact, alongside 13.8-inch and 15-inch touchscreen variants. Do note that the leak points toward OLED screen options for the upcoming Surface Laptop 8 lineup. So, we are expecting the new laptops to offer solid visuals out of the box.

Under the hood, both models in the Surface Laptop 8 lineup are powered by either the Snapdragon X2 Elite or Snapdragon X2 Plus processors. Depending on the model, users may get up to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory and removable SSD storage reaching as high as 2TB.

There’s also a brand-new color joining the lineup. Alongside Platinum, Black, and Dune, Microsoft is reportedly adding a fresh light-green finish called Jade.

AI performance and battery life are the highlights of the new lineup

Just like most PC launches in 2026, AI appears to be a major focus of the Microsoft Surface Laptop 8 series. The Snapdragon X2 chips reportedly deliver up to 80 TOPS of NPU performance, giving Microsoft’s Copilot-powered experiences plenty of local AI horsepower to work with.

Battery life also looks impressive on paper. The 13.8-inch model is said to offer up to 20 hours of local video playback, while the larger 15-inch version reportedly reaches up to 19 hours.

That being said, not everything is carrying over. The privacy display feature available on Microsoft’s business-focused Surface Laptop models reportedly won’t be available on these consumer ARM variants. Rumors suggest that Microsoft might unveil the Surface Laptop 8 lineup alongside the Surface Pro 13-inch on June 16.
