Microsoft Teams Feature Recap: Here's What Was Added In March 2026
Last month, Microsoft introduced a bunch of new features for Teams, which focus on smarter collaboration, AI-powered productivity, and robust privacy controls. From cross-account management to AI workflows, Teams is making it easier to stay connected and organize.
Smarter Collaboration Across Accounts
Teams now lets users view and manage activity across multiple accounts and organizations, combining notifications in one feed. Meanwhile, pinned accounts provide quick access, simplifying cross-tenant collaboration.
Moving on, threaded channels get a live meeting indicator, while the new Drafts quick view helps locate and send unfinished messages. The image viewer also received an upgrade, which allows users to scroll through all shared visuals and jump back to the original messages easily.
Other improvements include control over how the Enter key works in chat, a SHIFT + ESC keyboard shortcut to mark all messages as read, and Teams actions now accessible directly from Mac Spotlight. External chat sharing is now also smoother, with files and Loop components automatically shared with all participants.
AI Enhancements and Meetings
Teams meetings now support annotations on a single shared window for Windows, macOS, and mobile, allowing participants to mark up content without exposing their full desktop. Audio recap expands to seven additional languages, including Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish, helping global teams catch up faster. If you use Teams on the phone, Copilot will be at your rescue during live calls, offering context-aware summaries using Work IQ, integrating emails, meetings, and relevant web data for more productive conversations.
Privacy and Security
Teams now strips EXIF metadata from images shared in chats and channels, protecting location and device information by default. Presence tracking improvements ensure your status stays accurate in Teams on the web, even when switching tabs.
