Microsoft Teams name panels

Microsoft Teams will finally allow admins to name their Teams panels on Rooms Pro and Teams Shared Devices.

According to the latest entry in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, admins can provide custom names for these panels, which will be displayed on the panel’s home screen, replacing the global address book name that appears in Outlook or Teams.

Here’s what the entry says:

Admins can use the Teams Rooms Pro Management portal to assign a custom name to their Teams Rooms Pro or Teams Shared Device licensed panels. This new name displays on the panel’s home screen, replacing the global address book name that appears in Outlook or Teams.

However, this enhancement will only be released in December 2024. On the other hand, it will be generally available to every user.

In other news, the Redmond-based tech giant recently announced that Teams’ Intelligent Meeting Recap will become optional, and admins will be able to disable it during meetings.
