Microsoft Updates Media Creation Tool With Windows 11 KB5083769 April 2026 Build
Microsoft keeps MCT at version 10.0.26100.7019
Microsoft has rolled out its April 2026 Patch Tuesday updates, alongside a quiet but notable improvement to its Media Creation Tool (MCT), giving users a more streamlined way to install the latest versions of Windows 11.
Media Creation Tool now includes latest Windows 11 builds
As Neowin writes, the updated Media Creation Tool now includes both Windows 11 25H2 and 24H2 builds with the latest April patches pre-integrated. This means users creating bootable USB drives or ISO files will install a fully updated system from the start, avoiding the need for large post-install updates.
According to reports, the tool currently delivers build 26200.8246 for Windows 11 25H2, bundled with update KB5083769. While the tool’s version number remains unchanged at 10.0.26100.7019, Microsoft has still introduced under-the-hood fixes and improvements.
The Media Creation Tool remains available through Microsoft’s official “Create Windows Installation Media” page. It also includes the latest Microsoft Defender definitions, ensuring systems start with updated security protections immediately after installation.
This update makes the tool a more reliable option for clean installs, especially for users setting up new devices or troubleshooting existing systems. By integrating the latest cumulative updates directly into installation media, Microsoft reduces setup time and minimizes potential update-related issues after deployment.
Server issues and update problems emerge
Meanwhile, not all recent updates have landed smoothly. The KB5082063 update continues to cause installation failures on some Windows Server 2025 systems, with users reporting error codes like 0x800F0983.
In addition, Microsoft has warned of potential boot loop issues affecting certain Server domain controllers, adding to ongoing concerns around enterprise stability following the April updates.
