The new Outlook for Windows will finally be enhanced with a feature from the classic version of the platform. These category shortcuts should make migrating to the new Outlook easier for classic Outlook users.
Why? Well, quick-access category shortcuts make organizing emails easier, and generally faster. If you have already enjoyed using these shortcuts in the old version of Outlook for Windows, then you should know that Microsoft will soon add them to the new Outlook.
According to a recent entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the category shortcuts will be previewed in May, and the Redmond-based tech giant plans to roll them out in June 2025.
Here’s what the entry says:
Easily organize your inbox with quick-access category shortcuts! The shortcuts you loved in classic Outlook for Windows will be available in the new Outlook for Windows, making it easier than ever to categorize emails. #newoutlookforwindows
It’s worth noting that the feature will be generally available to all users, everywhere.
In similar news, the new Outlook will soon change how users move emails and messages around. The platform intends to make navigating Outlook a more natural experience.
