MSI Reuses Classic GPU Cooler Designs for RTX 5060 Ti Cards in Select Markets
Pricing not available for now
If you’ve seen MSI’s new RTX 5060 Ti cards and thought they looked familiar, you’re not wrong. The company appears to be bringing back some of its older cooler designs, and only in certain regions.
As first reported by VideoCardz, MSI is selling two RTX 5060 Ti 8GB models using cooling solutions from previous-generation graphics cards. These designs aren’t new, and MSI is upfront about that. What’s less clear is why MSI didn’t use it earlier? The news outlet speculates that the involvement of external suppliers may be the reason behind it.
Both cards, the Ventus 2X and the Shadow 3X Classic, are limited to China and Taiwan for now. They haven’t shown up on global MSI websites, hinting that this may be a region-specific move targeting OEMs and system integrators. For that audience, aesthetic design isn’t always a top priority, so using existing cooler inventory could be a smart cost-saving decision.
Spec-wise, both cards are identical. The standard boost clock is 2602 MHz, with software overclocking pushing it to 2617 MHz. The Ventus 2X comes with a dual-fan layout and is slightly thicker than before at 2.2 slots. The Shadow 3X Classic sticks to a true 2-slot form factor.
MSI hasn’t formally introduced these cards and probably won’t; the company often skips announcements for reused designs. But with production efficiency and market-specific demand driving the decision, these models might signal more region-tailored refreshes ahead.
