New Outlook Spaces feature will help Office 365 users organize their mails, meetings, and documents

Outlook is a pretty versatile email and calendar app, but Microsoft is looking to make it more useful. Spotted by WalkingCat, Microsoft is working on a new “Outlook Spaces” experience for Outlook on the Web, which will help you organize your emails, meetings, and documents into one clean space.

This new experience is still a work-in-progress and is not yet easily accessible. Although Microsoft has yet to announce it, you can enable it in an Office 365 Outlook mailbox with a workaround, as noted by WalkingCat. It appears to be only available for Office 365 users, though, and doesn’t apply to those with Office 365 Personal or Home subscriptions.

Once enabled, Outlook Spaces can bring together most content from an Outlook mailbox into an area known as a “project space.” For instance, if you were getting ready for a big event at work, you can take a specific email that you were looking for and drag it into, and create a dedicated space for it. You can then add items relating to the event in the space, such as a checklist, notes, links, images, online events, and more. There even is an ability to insert word documents, notes, and deadlines. You even can input specific search terms to have the space organized around whatever you’re looking for.

Microsoft also promises that A.I. will be used in upcoming releases to help in discovering and grouping items into spaces. It’s not yet clear when this feature will roll out, but now that we’ve seen it in the light of day, it may be coming soon. We’ll stay on top of the news and will keep you updated.
