Google is constantly adding new features to Chrome, and users have been waiting for the link preview feature for a while.
While this feature is still in development, we have some exciting news regarding it.
Chrome Canary lets you preview links more intuitively
We already wrote about Chrome’s link preview feature a few months ago, and it seems that this feature just got a new quality of life improvement.
To use it, in the past, you had to right-click the link and choose the preview option. Alternatively, you could use the Alt key and left-click to quickly open a preview.
According to MSPowerUser, that has been changed, making webpage previews easily accessible. Now, you just need to hold the Alt key and hover over the link and you’ll get the preview window, without having to click anything.
The change was first spotted by Twitter user Leopeva64 and he even has a video showcasing it in action:
It’s also worth mentioning that this feature is available by default in Chrome Canary, so you don’t have to adjust any hidden settings to enable it.
This isn’t the only new feature, and now Chrome allows you to minimize Custom Tabs while in PiP mode. There were also rumors regarding a screenshot editor in Chrome, but this feature seems to be scrapped.
