PS5 Welcome Hub's New Widget Shows Regional Gaming Trends, Player Counts & Weekly Surges
Sony appears to be testing yet another PS5 dashboard, and this one could make it much easier to see what players in your region are actually spending time on every week. A new beta widget, “Community Activity,” for the PS5 Welcome Hub has reportedly surfaced online, showing the Top 10 most-played games in a player’s country alongside a separate “Trending Now” section.
PS5 beta widget highlights regional gaming trends
The feature was first spotted by gaming creator MysticRyan on YouTube (via PlayStation LifeStyle). Based on the video, the widget appears inside the PS5 Welcome Hub and focuses on player activity by region rather than global recommendations.
The “Top 10” section reportedly displays active player counts for games in your country during the week. In the leaked example, Fortnite reportedly crossed 14.6 million players, while GTA 5 on PS5 showed 5.13 million players. Other titles shown included Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Minecraft, Marvel Rivals, and Battlefield 6.
Meanwhile, the “Trending Now” section reportedly tracks sudden spikes in gameplay activity. With platform engagement becoming increasingly important for console makers, the new widget seemingly gives Sony another way to keep players discovering active multiplayer titles directly from the dashboard itself.
That being said, it is still a beta feature as of now, so it remains unclear when or if Sony plans to roll it out publicly for all PS5 users.
