Red Dead Redemption's PS5 & Switch 2 Physical Edition Leaks with Pricing & Release Date

Released tipped for early next month

We have been hearing a lot of rumors and leaks regarding Red Dead Redemption in the recent past, and this time it’s not just about a PS5 disc version. Just a day after a retailer listed a physical PS5 copy (now taken offline), a new report now hints at Rockstar’s broader plans involving multiple platforms.

Red Dead Redemption physical release for PS5 and Switch 2 scheduled for May 7th

According to well-known Dealabs leaker billbil-kun, Red Dead Redemption is reportedly set to launch physically on both PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 in Europe on May 7, 2026. That said, there’s a catch, especially for Switch 2 users.

The so-called physical version on Switch 2 is expected to be a “code-in-a-box,” which means buyers will only get a download code rather than an actual cartridge. It’s a bit of a mixed move since the game itself isn’t unusually large.

For those who still prefer a proper cartridge, the original Switch version remains the better option. Notably, both physical and digital owners are said to receive a free upgrade when playing on Switch 2, as long as the game is updated to the latest version.

Pricing details surfaces

Speaking of pricing, the leaker says that both editions are reportedly set at €34.99, which is noticeably lower than the usual digital price. Much like previous releases, the package is expected to include the Undead Nightmare expansion along with Game of the Year content, though multiplayer remains absent.

As of now, Rockstar Games hasn’t officially shared any confirmation on this, however, given the tipster solid past track record, the announcement could be imminent.
