Resident Evil 2, 3 & 4 Remakes Get Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date

Nintendo Switch 2 is getting a serious survival horror upgrade next month. During today’s Nintendo Direct, Capcom confirmed that the Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 remakes are heading to the Nintendo’s latest console.

Three Resident Evil remakes are landing together

All three games will arrive digitally on October 16, 2026. Capcom is bringing expanded versions of the remakes, rather than simply offering the base games on Nintendo’s newer hardware.

Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition includes the main game alongside additional costumes, a Samurai Edge weapon, and a soundtrack swap option. Resident Evil 3 will also make the jump, while Resident Evil 4 arrives as its Gold Edition.

The Resident Evil 4 package is particularly loaded. It includes the main campaign, the Separate Ways expansion starring Ada Wong, plus additional outfits, weapons, and other bonus content.

Physical copies are coming later

If you prefer owning physical games, there is a small catch. The digital versions launch October 16, while physical editions are scheduled for January 29, 2027.

That means Switch 2 owners can jump into all three remakes this October without waiting for the physical release. Capcom is also offering an early purchase discount for the digital versions in Japan through November 7.

At a time when Switch 2 is building a stronger third-party library, bringing three major Resident Evil remakes together makes plenty of sense. The console already has Resident Evil Requiem, while Resident Evil Veronica is also planned for 2027.
