Resident Evil Requiem Gets Day One Patch on Switch 2, amiibo Release Date Confirmed for July
Capcom has quietly pushed a day one update for Resident Evil Requiem, just as the game launches on Nintendo Switch 2. At a time when players expect a smooth first boot experience, the publisher is urging users to install Version 1.1.0 before jumping in. The title is also launching simulatenously on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
Day one patch goes live, amiibo release date confirmed for late July
The news comes via Nintendo Life, which cites Nintendo’s official Japanese website in reporting that the Ver. 1.1.0 update contains “several fixes.” Specific details have not been shared, but the patch is labeled essential prior to gameplay. If it hasn’t downloaded automatically, players will likely see a prompt at launch.
That being said, the absence of detailed patch notes leaves some room for speculation. It’s unclear whether the fixes address performance, stability, or minor launch bugs. These days, day one patches have become standard practice across the industry, especially for large-scale releases like this one.
Speaking of other titles, Resident Evil Requiem releases alongside Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Gold Edition and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition on Switch 2. The timing suggests Capcom wants to aggressively push for the franchise on Nintendo’s latest platform.
Back in earlier announcements, Capcom also revealed new amiibo figures based on Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy. Now, we have a confirmed date. Both amiibo are scheduled to launch on July 30, 2026.
