A new rumor served by Xbox leaker eXtas1s hints that Xbox is working with the Xenia Canary emulator team to revive original Xbox and 360 games. Microsoft apparently wants to bring them to PC, Game Pass, xCloud, and modern consoles with performance upgrades.

This initiative, reportedly part of a “Classics” program, would launch around Xbox’s 25th anniversary in 2026. Games will reportedly roll out in phases, starting with fan favorites like Fable 2, Skate 3, Gears of War 3, and Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Older titles like the original Ninja Gaiden and its sequel are also under review. Microsoft is reportedly sorting out technical and licensing hurdles before finalizing the lineup. The program would allow players to access Xbox legacy games natively on PC—something not possible for many titles today.

While this all sounds plausible given Microsoft’s push for backward compatibility, it remains unconfirmed. Xbox hasn’t issued any official statement just yet. Thefore, we recommend you take this news with a grain of salt.

After the claims made by the tipster went viral, Windows Central’s Jez Coden refuted this rumor. Replying to a post on X, which cites these claims, Corden noted, “Xbox is gunning to bring Xbox games to more devices, but this particular scenario isn’t a thing at the moment.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is focused on future hardware. The company is working with AMD on next-gen chips built for higher fidelity graphics and AI-driven enhancements.
