Microsoft has resolved an issue affecting users in Japan who were unable to properly access SharePoint Online and Microsoft OneDrive. The company initially reported that on X it was investigating the problem after affected users began experiencing navigation errors and delays when accessing SharePoint sites or OneDrive content.

Microsoft says the access issue across SharePoint Online and OneDrive has been resolved

According to Microsoft 365 Status, the issue was tracked under SP1471596 for SharePoint Online and OD1471597 for OneDrive. Users affected by the incident could encounter errors while navigating SharePoint Online or noticeable delays when attempting to open their stored OneDrive content.

The problem appears to have been limited to users in Japan, although Microsoft did not provide a specific number of affected customers. At a time when SharePoint and OneDrive are widely used for workplace collaboration and cloud file access, even a regional outage can cause problems for businesses relying on Microsoft’s cloud services.

In the latest update on X, Microsoft said that it carried out multiple recovery actions within the affected infrastructure to restore functionality. After monitoring the services following those actions, the company determined that the incident had been fully resolved.
