Garry’s Mod is a 3D game, so a video card that can support basic 3D rendering is required.

Built on a familiar engine
While Garry’s Mod was developed by Facepunch Studios, it is published by Valve, and it makes use of a modified version of Valve’s proprietary Source engine.
Because of this, Garry’s Mod for an excellent sandbox title that uses realistic physics to simulate the effects of various objects interacting with each other.
In fact, that is pretty much the entire premise of the game, as players are not bound by missions, quests, or anything that may restrict their creative freedom in any way.
All they have to do is log into a game, start placing object, maybe even stitching them together, and then observe how they interact.
A game with countless possibilities
Partially because of the Source engine, Garry’s Mod is highly customizable, so anyone can bring their own personal touch to the game to make it more to their liking. These game modes and addons can also be shared with the game’s community, which is quite large in itself as well.
Besides, given the game’s premise, the only true way one can get bored is if they have a limited imagination of what to do in it.
More so, the game itself can be used for other things other than gaming. For example, you can create your own Machinima movies using the resources at your disposal, and become a hot on gaming platforms such as Twitch, or on YouTube.
Create your own contraptions, or join and built together with others
One of the neat features of Garry’s Mod is how it caters to both those that love single-player games, and those that love online interaction, as games can be played in both ways.
You can play together with your own Steam friends, or random strangers. Whichever the case, Co-Op games are still loads of fun.
All in all, Garry’s Mod is a great alternative if you’re tired of games that take themselves too seriously, and you just want to relax, build things, laugh, or just have an overall great time.
