notepad spellcheck not available

The introduction of spellcheck in Notepad is one of the most significant changes to the basic text editor in a long time. It has been introduced in Notepad 11.2402.18.0 for users in the Windows 11 insiders in the Canary and Dev Channels.

Microsoft also brought dedicated Spellcheck and Autocorrect settings to help users configure things. As per reports, a few users have already got spellcheck on Notepad in Windows 11.

As it turns out, most still don’t have the new Notepad and, subsequently, no spellcheck.

This isn’t a major problem. Much like any other major update, spellcheck in Notepad is also a phased rollout.

Microsoft, in its official blog, said,

We are beginning to roll out spellcheck in Notepad, so it may not be available to all Insiders in the Canary and Dev Channels just yet as we plan to monitor feedback and see how it lands before pushing it out to everyone.

Even if you are a Windows Insider in the Dev and Canary channels, wait for a few days. The feature should make it to your device soon. And if you are not, sign up for the Windows Insider Program.

To anyone who received it, send your feedback. Microsoft will monitor it in the initial days before a mass deployment of the feature.

As for users on the stable Windows 11 builds, reports suggest spellcheck should be released alongside Windows 11 24H2 in a few months.

Have you received the spellcheck Notepad update? If yes, share your honest review in the comments section.
