Spotify Now Lets AI Agents Create & Save Personalized Podcasts to Your Library
Earlier today, Spotify announced that its AI-powered DJ feature is getting new languages and personas. But that’s not all. In the latest announcement, the company has also confirmed a new feature that could make AI-generated audio far more useful for everyday users.
Spotify says users can now save and play “Personal Podcasts” directly inside Spotify, that too by allowing AI agents to generate private audio briefings, summaries, and learning sessions. Guess what? The company is welcoming these AI-generated personal podcasts into the Spotify library.
AI agents can now generate save personalized podcasts directly inside Spotify
In the announcement post, Spotify acknowledges that “People are already starting to use their agents to create personal audio that guides their day: from summaries of class notes before an exam to briefings of what’s on their calendar.” The company further adds that the new feature is a result of users “asking for a way to listen to it on Spotify, where they already listen to everything else.” So, what exactly can you do?
Well, Spotify says users can create these Personal Podcasts using supported AI agents such as OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, and OpenClaw GitHub through the new “Save to Spotify” beta tool. Once connected, users can prompt the AI agent to generate personalized audio content ranging from daily briefings to study guides and weekend itineraries. The generated podcast is then automatically saved inside Spotify’s library for playback across devices.
Spotify also highlighted several examples of how the feature can be used. Users can create quick morning briefings that summarize meetings, weather, and commute podcasts, or generate deeper educational audio sessions using personal notes, saved articles, searches, and uploaded files. The company says these experiences are designed to evolve over time and become increasingly personalized.
To use the feature, users need to install the Save to Spotify CLI tool on desktop and sign into Spotify through a browser. As of now, the feature is available in beta for eligible Spotify Free and Premium users globally.
