STALKER 2 Gets a Massive Cost of Hope Expansion This Summer
GSC Game World just revealed the first major story expansion for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Titled Cost of Hope, this massive piece of downloadable content will launch this summer. The developer promises it will add dozens of hours of nonlinear gameplay to the open-world survival shooter.
Fans can expect new regions, fresh story branches, and a return to the haunting atmosphere they already know and love.
The expansion lets you explore new regions
Cost of Hope introduces two long-awaited areas to explore. Players will finally get to visit the iconic Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant and navigate the maze-like paths of the Iron Forest. Each location features its own central hub, plenty of uncharted spots, and a wide variety of quests. You will also find new weapons and gear to help fight off vicious mutants and hostile factions.
The expansion puts you back in the shoes of Skif. The new storyline triggers via a PDA signal and runs parallel to the main events of Heart of Chornobyl. You will find yourself caught in a renewed conflict between two classic factions. Duty wants to destroy the Zone to protect humanity, while Freedom views the dangerous area as a gift to be explored. Your choices will decide how this conflict ends and what happens to the Zone.
These are the release details
When it arrives this summer, Cost of Hope will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. GSC Game World confirmed the expansion supports Xbox Play Anywhere, meaning you can buy the game once and play across your console and PC. The studio also noted it plans to release another expansion in the future to complete this new story arc.
