Surface Phone

Microsoft kept it really quiet about the rumored Surface Phone lately. On the other hand, the patent information that surfaced the last few months led many users to believe that such a device is indeed on its way.

Fans have also become convinced that this will be a real savior that will rescue Redmond’s dying mobile platform.

Speculations are rising

Speculations are currently close to reaching their brand new record after a Microsoft official made a statement for Digit regarding the Surface Phone. Even if this official from Microsoft did not reveal any specifics about the project, everyone’s getting excited once again.

We are referring to Anant Maheswari who is the president of Microsoft India who explained in detail that there is currently some work involving both Microsoft and other OEMs from the mobile area.

Focusing on the Surface line & the mobile form factor

Anant Maheswari claimed that Microsoft is currently focused on the Surface line’s form factors and these include the Surface Studio, the Surface Hub, the Surface Pros and the Surface Book. These devices have a lot of features, and the company is continuing to focus on the form-factors.

Regarding the mobiles, he stated that Microsoft is currently working with all essential OEMs and OS players in order to create brand new apps and experiences. He also said that the company plans to allow users to be able to access all of the company’s apps and services on the mobile form factor as well.

This latest thing that he stated is the one that got everyone’s hopes high again, even if this was not a confirmation that a Surface Phone is coming our way. But, on the other hand, by offering users an easier way to access Microsoft apps and services on mobile devices is indeed something that the company has been trying to achieve for quite a while.

The mobile form factor caught everyone’s attention even if for the moment this is a project that is only present in patents.
