Microsoft has been pushing updates to Windows 11 to enhance its user experience. Windows 11’s taskbar in particular has been redesigned and revamped in the recent past in a bid to provide users with a modernized experience. As is the case with last year’s Windows 11 2022 Update that shipped with a new quick setting in the taskbar to manage the Task Manager function.

And while all these new features and updates are welcomed, the Windows 11 taskbar is missing some legacy features that are available in Windows 10. However, some of these highly requested features now seem to be making their way to Windows 11’s taskbar.

These new additions include the ability never to combine buttons and show all running app instances with labels. The features were part of Microsoft’s build 23435 released to the Windows 11 Insider Dev Channel last week.

To this point, it isn’t yet clear when Microsoft intends to ship these legacy features to users. Albacore on Twitter has indicated that there isn’t an option available yet through which a user can upgrade the taskbar to feature these capabilities.
