Microsoft is testing a new AI assistant to improve mobile gaming support through the Xbox app. The new Copilot for Gaming (Beta) feature helps players ask game-related questions without interrupting play in the Xbox beta mobile app on iOS and Android.

It works on a second screen, so the main game stays in focus. You can type or use voice commands to get answers in real time.

How the Xbox gaming Copilot handles your game questions

Copilot knows what game you’re playing and answers based on that, your profile, and Bing search results. Players can ask about crafting in Minecraft, beating a boss, or understanding achievements. The Copilot for Gaming is built to answer questions that would normally pull you away from gameplay. It keeps the support fast, accurate, and in context.

Game recommendations are also part of the experience—just ask what to play next or mention your favorite genre. You can ask about horror games, recent RPGs, or Xbox titles that fit your mood. The Xbox gaming Copilot responds with suggestions tailored to your taste and game history. It’s designed to make exploring new titles easier.

Copilot also answers questions about your account, like Game Pass renewals or past achievements. You can ask about your gamerscore or find your rarest achievement with a quick prompt. The Xbox gaming Copilot pulls from your data to give fast, personal answers. It’s all about less searching and more playing.

The beta is open to players over 18 in the U.S., Japan, and a few other regions. Android users can try it now by updating the Xbox mobile app. iOS and Windows users will get access soon, along with more updates. Keep asking questions and giving feedback—it’ll shape what Copilot becomes next.
