Thanksgiving can be the perfect time to reward yourself with a new laptop, expecially if you didn’t move fast enough for Black Friday. Don’t worry because there are still a lot of hot deals to take advantage of.

We will try to make the perfect selection for every budget function and form-factor but the common denomination for this selection is dedicated to fun and games.

Which laptop should I buy for Thanksgiving?

MSI GE75 Raider 10SGS

  • Generous 17.3 display with 300 Hz refresh rate
  • 10th generation Intel Core i9 processor
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q 8G GDDR6 graphics card
  • 1TB NVMe SSD and 32GB (16G*2) DDR4 2666MHz
  • Not very good battery life

The MSI GE75 Raider 10SGS is a real behemoth that packs a mean configuration for gaming or for any other application that you may throw at it.

The huge, 17.3 inch, 1080p screen has an amazing refresh rate of 300 Hz, perfect for any FPS game. It packs an Intel Core i9-10750H processor clocked at 5 GHz which is helped by 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, but you can max that at 64 GB if you so desire.

The graphics department is led by an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q with 8G of dedicated GDDR6 memory. Like any professional gaming rig, the GE75 Raider has an Nvidia G-Sync display that ensures minimum response time, perfect transitions, and crisp image no matter how fast is the action in the game.

And because this is an extreme configuration, the cooling system has an extreme layout with 7 heat pipes to cool the laptop down when the action heats up.

Not even the sound output is not regular. You will be able to experience hi-res, 192 kHz, 24 bit stereo audio for ultimate experience so you can use that pair of high end gaming headset.

Gigabyte AERO 15

  • 4K UHD OLED display
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060
  • 9th generation Intel Core i7 processor
  • 16GB DDR4 RAM and 512GB NVMe SSD
  • No noticeable problems

Gigabyte AERO 15 is the perfect studio for creative design, graphics, for photo and video editing but also perfectly fit for gaming. And believe it or not, this is the first AI (Artificial Intelligence) laptop.

This means that AERO 15 is powered by Microsoft Azure AI. The user preference data is fed through the Learning platform and that leads in time to adjust the best CPU and GPU wattage settings for different apps.

This is a huge improvement not only for saving energy but also to provide sufficient power to the apps that need it.

The 15.6″ display has ultra-thin bezels features an awesome Samsung 4K UHD 3840×2160 AMOLED panel with VESA Display HDR 400 True Black standard for realistic imagery and higher contrast.

The display not only that it’s capable of showcasing 100% of the DCI-P3 wide color gamut but it also has a super-fast 1 ms display response time. That leads us to the subject at hand: gaming.

And yes, it’s perfectly ready for intense gaming with its NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 with 6GB of GDDR6 and the 16GB DDR4 2666MHz dual-channel memory (8GBx2).

Asus TUF FX504

  • 15.6-inch 120Hz display
  • 3 ms response time
  • Intel Core i7-8750H CPU
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB dedicated memory
  • Battery autonomy is not great

Asus TUF FX504 is not the most powerfull or sleek laptop in this top, but it’s clearly a good deal to get for this moment. As you might have guessed, it’s a gaming laptop and it comes with a nice, 15.6 inch display with 120 Hz refresh rate.

As the majority of all-purpose laptops come with a 60 Hz display, this one is on par with most games, even for first-person shooters. And we have to add the 3 ms response time to the formula for the excellent overall performance of the display.

The 8th generation Intel Core i7-8750H CPU leads the way and it’s complemented by 16 GB of DDR4 memory, still OK even for some recent titles.

The most important piece in the gaming department is, however, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card with 6GB dedicated memory. Again, not the best or greatest but it will be right on the spot for some great action.

As for the storage, you will have a fast, 256GB PCIe SSD in tandem with a 1TB HDD.

HP Pavilion 15-cb077nr

  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card with 2 GB GDDR5 dedicated
  • Intel Core i7-7700HQ
  • 15.6-inch diagonal Full HD anti-glare display
  • 1TB HDD and 128GB PCIe NVMe SSD
  • Not good for FPS gaming

If you want a decent configuration laptop at a great price, then you should also consider HP Pavilion 15-cb077nr. It comes with a 15.6-inch diagonal, Full HD display that uses IPS technology.

IPS displays are focused on wide viewing angles and good image quality and not for gaming, at least not for fast action games like first-person shooters.

There, are, however, lots of game genres out there and HP Pavilion will do just great with its NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card that comes with 2 GB GDDR5 dedicated memory.

The decent configuration continues with the Intel Core i7-7700HQ (7th generation) and the 8 GB of RAM.

There is one thing that you will definitely be happy about: storage. This rig comes with a 1TB HDD and a 128GB PCIe NVMe SSD. Other features include a backlit keyboard, a card reader and a webcam.

Dell G3579-5941BLK-PUS G3

  • 15.6-inch Full HD IPS anti-glare display
  • 8th gen Intel i5 CPU
  • 8GB DDR4, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 4GB
  • Windows 10 64bit
  • The display is IPS

This Dell gaming laptop is also a good deal for any gamer. Well, not exactly for any gamer because the 15.6 inch display is an IPS display, not as fast as TN displays used for FPS gaming.

However, you will still benefit from the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 with 4GB dedicated GDDR5 memory and the 8 GB DDR4 memory, plenty of power to run evem some some of the latest and demanding games out there.

This rig is also great on portability. At just 22.7 mm and a slimline design Dell’s laptop is pretty sleek for a gaming device, making it pretty easy to be carried around for LAN parties.

And if you run into a nice monitor on your trip, bring your HDMI 2.0 cable along to display the screen even on a 60Hz 4k screen. And talking about trips, the 56 Whr battery is not bad at all, it can give you a few full hours of gameplay before looking for an outlet.

You will not have to worry a bit about storage because you have a 128 GB fast booting SSD and a big 1 TB HDD combo at your disposal.
