The Expanse Osiris Reborn Reveals New Gameplay And April Beta Date

The Expanse Osiris Reborn

Fans of intense science fiction have a massive new adventure to look forward to soon. During the recent Xbox Partner Preview broadcast, developer Owlcat Games dropped a fresh look at The Expanse: Osiris Reborn. The upcoming third-person action RPG is officially launching in spring 2027. If you cannot wait that long to explore the solar system, it is also hosting a closed beta test starting next month.

How to join the April testing phase and what it includes

The testing period officially begins on April 22 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. To get early access, players need to buy either the Collector’s Edition or the Miller’s Pack from the developer’s website. The beta drops you into a full mission early in the story. You escape a disaster on Eros station and travel to the Pinkwater 4 base. This demo gives players a solid feel for the core mechanics.

You can test out different weapons, try navigating in zero gravity, and meet a few key companions. The developer stated it plans to use player feedback from this early phase to refine gameplay before the final launch.

The game offers fast cover combat mixed with a deep companion system

Osiris Reborn takes heavy inspiration from classic sci-fi games. You play as a mercenary trying to survive a massive conspiracy. Combat is fast and relies heavily on using cover to avoid enemy fire. You can use tactical gadgets like scanners and specialized grenades to gain an advantage.

The game also features a deep companion system where your squad members can use specific skills to wipe out entire groups of enemies at once. Between firefights, you will spend plenty of time talking to characters.

The choices you make carry serious consequences that affect the entire narrative. When it fully launches next year, the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass.
