Microsoft has released the latest update for its Edge browser, 133.0.3065.7, to the Dev channel. The update brings an array of issues, fixes, and platform-specific improvements. One of the most important fixes addressed an issue that caused the browser to crash in Copilot on Android.
Copilot has been available on Android devices as a standalone app, but for those who don’t want to install it and instead access it from their preferred browser, that is a solution, too. However, accessing Copilot in Edge on Android would crash the browser. Microsoft says that will no longer be happening.
The 133.0.3065.7 Edge build also brings dozens of fixes for other issues present on Macs and Android, as well, including fixing blank windows, configuring settings such as super drag and drop, or issues with PDF file loading.
Below, you can see some of the enhancements, fixes, and features released with the build, but you can also look at the complete list here.
- Enhanced accessibility by adding ARIA labels to the buttons on the main page in Import settings.
- Resolved an issue where a blank dialog appeared during the New Profile First Run Experience (FRE).
- On Mac, the ‘Close tab’ button was still visible when the tab was not focused or selected; this has been fixed.
- Fixed an issue on Mac where the data content pages in French were overlapping.
- Fixed a bug on Mac that caused a blank window to appear, preventing the setup of a new personal profile.
- The ‘Browser Task Manager’ screen now auto-scrolls when navigating using the arrow keys on Mac.
- On Mac, the ‘Configure Super Drag and Drop’ couldn’t be opened when clicked, now fixed.
- The top status bar of the What’s New page is now visible on Android.
- Fixed loading a PDF, using a link with the ‘text/html’ content type, on Android.
- Fixed an issue on Android where the search box was covered by the keyboard and the bottom bar displayed abnormally when clicking on the search box to enter the ZIP page.
- The Copilot icon will not reappear in the address bar on Android after visiting a website, turning off Copilot, and scrolling the page.
- The page info subtitle appeared incomplete on Android, this has been fixed.
- The refresh icon and reading mode icon no longer overlap in the address bar on Android.
- On iOS, the browser displays correctly when a blocked URL is searched and the cancel icon clicked.
- The Read Aloud page no longer displays errors when opening external PDF files on iOS.
Speaking about Microsoft Edge and Copilot, we exclusively found that the browser is being enhanced to support a finer summary of YouTube videos thanks to AI capabilities. Edge’s detailed Video summaries feature is currently being A/B tested in Canary version.
