How can I fix the VPN client agent interprocess communication error?

Disable ICS (Internet Connection Sharing)

  1. Press the Win + R key combination on your keyboard
  2. Type control.exe /name Microsoft.NetworkAndSharingCenterRun accessory VPN Client agent was unable to create the interprocess communication depot

  4. Click the Change adapter settings button
  5. Right-click the shared network connection and select Properties

  7. Uncheck the Allow other users to connect through this computer’s internet connection box

The Internet Connection Sharing feature is not compatible with Cisco AnyConnect.

Therefore, trying to run or install the VPN client on a system with shared network connections may end up prompting you with the error above.
