Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War 4 is officially delayed, December 3 is the new release date

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 just took a major hit before launch. KING Art Games has officially pushed the game into December.
The game was previously scheduled for September 17, 2026. But it will now release on December 3, 2026.

Dawn of War 4 needs more time before release

KING Art says the delay will give the team additional time to refine the experience. The studio also wants to address player feedback gathered during development. The shift moves the game almost three months beyond its original date. That gives the developers additional time for polishing, balancing, and optimization before release.

Players who purchase the Commander Edition will still receive early access. That version now provides access from November 30, three days before the standard launch. The delay also affects the game’s previously announced post-launch plans. KING Art has revealed a Year One roadmap alongside the new release date.

A crowded 2026 release window sees another shakeup

For those unaware, Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 4 was heading into an extremely busy September. The delay now moves its launch closer to several major holiday-season releases. That timing could prove important for an RTS returning to one of gaming’s biggest strategy franchises. Not to forget, the game also lands shortly after GTA 6, which is scheduled for November 19.

In case you don’t know, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 remains a PC-only release via Steam (Pre-order now). Moreover, it features four factions at launch, including Space Marines, Orks, Necrons, and Adeptus Mechanicus.
