Don’t know what to play on Game Pass? With so, so many games across nearly every genre out there (and even a few that defy categorization) it can be tough to know where to start. Batman: Arkham Knight

The fourth installment of the Batman: Arkham series, which includes some of the best superhero games ever made. Arkham Knight introduces the Batmobile as a gameplay element, allowing Batman to get around the open world of Gotham City.

The Batmobile is much more than a means of getting around though: it has a Pursuit Mode focused on driving challenges and a Battle Mode in which the Batmobile becomes a tank outfitted with its own special armory, including a Vulcan rotary cannon and anti-tank missiles. The Batmobile can also be upgraded for even more awesomeness.

Not only is Arkham Knight one of the best superhero game on Game Pass right now, it is also one of the most underrated games on the service, full stop.

Crackdown 3

Coming almost a decade after the release of its predecessor, the third game in the Crackdown franchise picks up where Crackdown 2 left off and goes further. It offers cooperative play in campaign as well as in the “Keys to the City” free-roam mode.

Time to step up your boom and stop crime as a super-powered Agent in Crackdown 3’s sandbox of mayhem and destruction. Explore the heights of a futuristic city, race through the streets in a transforming vehicle, and use your powerful abilities to stop a ruthless criminal empire.

Injustice 2

We already discussed Injustice 2 in our “What to play on Game Pass: Fighting Games” post, but we thought it would also be worth a mention here. Injustice 2 gathers all your favorite characters from the DC Comics universe – Batman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, The Flash, and many others – and pits them against each other in this glorious fighter.

Marvel’s Avengers

Developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix, this Marvel-themed beatemup supports up to four-player online cooperative play. The game features characters, costumes and abilities from “all corners of the Marvel Universe,” including the comic books.

The plot centers around Kamala Khan (recently of Miss Marvel fame, from the television series). Without giving it away, Kamala is tasked with reassembling the disbanded Avengers team to take down an A.I.M. scientist who wants to eliminate all Inhumans.

Marvel’s Avengers is a solid choice for brawler fans, and practically a must-play for Game Pass members who happen to be Marvel fans.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

In this game players take control of Peter Quill (Star-Lord) and his elemental guns. The other members of the GotG team are present in non-playable form: Gamora, Groot, Rocket Racoon and Drax the Destroyer. Each has their own unique special abilities, and can be issued basic commands when the player enters Guardians mode whilst in combat.

Though not exactly a non-linear experience, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy blends action and exploration to great effect. It is definitely a worthwhile undertaking for fans of the Marvel Universe.
