Meta has been pushing new features and updates to WhatsApp, and community admins could be next in line for a useful upgrade. The company is exploring Organizations, a new feature designed to make managing large communities less complicated.

WhatsApp Organizations puts member management in one place

According to WABetaInfo, the feature appeared in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.26.43.1. Organizations would give community admins a dedicated screen showing the organization name, description, total member count, and complete member list.

Admins could tap “View all” to check every member and see which sub-groups they belong to. This could save time for people managing communities with hundreds of members and multiple connected groups.

WhatsApp introduced Communities in 2022 to bring related groups under one structure. However, tracking members across several sub-groups can become tedious as communities grow. Organizations could address that problem without changing how people communicate.

Meta continues improving WhatsApp group management

The new feature follows several recent changes aimed at making WhatsApp more useful for larger conversations. Meta recently introduced smarter polls, @all mentions, and easier group creation from existing chats.

The company has also rolled out parental controls for teen accounts and introduced guest calling, allowing people without WhatsApp accounts to join calls through links. These updates show how the platform continues expanding its tools for different users.

Organizations is still a work in progress

There is one important catch, though. WhatsApp Organizations remains in very early development and is not available for public testing. Meta has not announced a release date or confirmed that the feature will reach users.

Organizations also differ from Communities. Communities bring related groups together for communication, while Organizations would give admins a central place to oversee membership. For now, the feature remains experimental. Its design and functionality could change before any potential public release, and WhatsApp could still decide not to launch it.
