Many users are wondering where are Excel autosave files stored on Windows 10, especially if they need to recover a lost file, so today we’ll show you how to find autosave files.
Where are Excel AutoSave files stored in Windows 10?
1. UnsavedFiles directory
- Press Windows key + R and type %localappdata%.
- Navigate to
Microsoft\Office\UnsavedFiles - In there, you should find all your autosave files.
2. Check the location in Excel
- Open Excel options.
- Next, go to the Save tab. Locate AutoRecover file location.
- Navigate to that location to recover your files.
By default, the location should be C:\Users\Your_username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\
Now that you know where are Excel recovery files stored, you will never lose your files again. To prevent this from happening, be sure to turn on AutoSave in Excel.
