Microsoft has issued another reminder that Windows 11 23H2 Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions will reach end of support in November 2026.

The November security update will be the last for these editions. After that, affected devices will no longer receive monthly security updates, leaving them vulnerable to newly discovered security threats.

Microsoft previously issued a 60-day reminder about the approaching deadline. With less than a month remaining, the company recommends upgrading affected devices to a supported Windows 11 version.

Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows 11 26H2

Microsoft recommends moving to Windows 11 26H2, also known as the Windows 11 2026 Update, which launched in September 2026.

The update is rolling out gradually to eligible devices. Users can check whether it is available by navigating to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.

Those who enable Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available can also receive the update automatically when Microsoft makes it available for their devices.

Windows 11 26H2 uses an enablement package (eKB), allowing users to complete the upgrade with a single restart.

Other Windows versions are also approaching support deadlines

Windows 11 23H2 is not the only version approaching its support deadline.

Microsoft will also end support for Windows 11 24H2 Home and Pro in October 2026. However, Enterprise and Education editions of Windows 11 24H2 will continue receiving updates until October 2027.

Meanwhile, Windows Server 2022 reaches the end of mainstream support in October 2026, although extended support will continue until October 14, 2031.

Organizations still running Windows 11 23H2 Enterprise or Education should plan their upgrades before the November deadline to avoid missing future security updates.
