Another day, another Windows 11 24H2 surfaced as DELL PC and laptop owners found out that they can’t shut down their devices or go into sleep after installing the update.
As spotted by Windows Latest, the problem was also acknowledged by DELL, and this time, Microsoft didn’t block the Windows 11 24H2, as they previously done with the eSCL bug.
In DELL’s document concerning this problem, they confirm that when Dell Encryption v11.9 or earlier is installed on Windows 11 24H2, the computer may no longer boot.
The issue is that Dell Encryption v11.9 and earlier are no longer compatible with 24H2 and that is causing this disturbing bug. However, DELL already released the Dell Encryption v11.10 back in September and has rolled out an update through their update channels.
If the software wasn’t updated yet, or you don’t have it installed, DELL also has a guide on how to install Dell Encryption v11.10.
We also remind you that Windows 24H2 doesn’t include the AC-3 codecs used by the Dolby Audio Decoders and that already is causing sound problems on some ASUS devices. The manufacturer announced that they will provide these codecs on their machines to counter this problem.
As Windows 24H2 is still riddled with bugs and incompatibility issues, we recommend delaying the update for a later date if possible.
We hope that you’re not facing these issues, but if you do, let’s talk about them in the comments below.
