Windows 11 26H2 Enablement Package (eKB) Direct Download for Offline Installer (.msu)

Microsoft has started rolling out Windows 11 26H2 for eligible PCs. Hoewever, if Windows 11 26H2 isn’t showing up through Windows Update yet, you can manually install Microsoft’s KB5121794 Enablement Package. The package is available for both x64 Intel/AMD PCs and ARM64 devices. Before you begin, make sure your PC is running Windows 11 24H2 or 25H2. Microsoft also requires KB5120998 to be installed first, with builds 26100.9278 or 26200.9278, depending on your current Windows version.

How to download and install Windows 11 26H2 via Enablement Package (eKB)

Download Windows 11 26H2 Enablement Package (KB5121794)

Choose the package that matches your PC’s processor architecture. The following links contain .msu packages hosted on Microsoft’s Delivery Optimization servers.

• x64 for Intel and AMD
• ARM64 for Snapdragon and other ARM PCs

Check your Windows version before installing

Before downloading anything, check which Windows version you’re currently running.

1. Press Windows + I to open Settings.
2. Select System.
3. Scroll down and select About.
4. Look under Windows specifications.
5. Check the Version and OS build numbers.

You should be running Windows 11 24H2 or 25H2. If you’re on Windows 10 or Windows 11 23H2, KB5121794 is not the upgrade path. Those systems need a full Windows installation or feature-update process instead.

Make sure KB5120998 is installed

This step is important because KB5121794 requires KB5120998. Therefore, go to:

• Settings > Windows Update > Update history

Now, look for KB5120998 in the installed updates. You can also check your build number under:

• Settings > System > About > Windows specifications

The required builds are 26100.9278 for Windows 11 24H2 and 26200.9278 for Windows 11 25H2. If KB5120998 is missing, install it through Windows Update first. Microsoft also provides it through the Microsoft Update Catalog.

Install the Windows 11 26H2 enablement package

Once the prerequisite is installed, installing KB5121794 is straightforward.

1. Download the correct KB5121794 .msu file.
2. Open your Downloads folder.
3. Double-click the downloaded file.
4. Windows Update Standalone Installer will appear.
5. Follow the prompts to install the package.
6. Wait for Windows to finish applying the update.
7. Restart your PC when prompted.

Because 24H2, 25H2 and 26H2 share the same servicing foundation, Microsoft uses the enablement package to activate the 26H2 features instead of replacing the entire operating system.

Check if Windows 11 26H2 installed correctly

After your PC restarts:

1. Open Settings.
2. Go to System > About.
3. Find Windows specifications.
4. Check the Version field.

It should now show 26H2. You can also press Windows + R, type winver, and press Enter to check your Windows version.

One thing to remember

If KB5121794 refuses to install, don’t keep forcing it. First check that you’re on Windows 11 24H2 or 25H2 and that KB5120998 is installed. Microsoft has also been using safeguard holds during the 26H2 rollout when a compatibility issue is detected. All that said, the easiest route is still Windows Update, but KB5121794 gives users who want the manual route a much smaller way to move from an eligible 24H2 or 25H2 installation to Windows 11 26H2.
