Windows 11 Build 27808

Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27808 to the Canary Channel. This latest build brings several changes, improvements, and fixes to enhance the user experience and huge updates to the Microsoft Store.

The platform now has an updated design for its spotlight area that looks more modern and encompassing. This means users will be able to scroll through more applications, games, and other software without having to scroll down or leave the landing page behind.

Plus, the Redmond-based tech giant updated the Downloads Page to display available updates for downloaded apps, and games.

Another key update in this build is modifying the Task Manager. The Task Manager calculates CPU utilization for the Processes, Performance, and Users pages using standard metrics, ensuring consistent CPU workload display across all pages. A new optional column called “CPU Utility” has been introduced on the Details tab, showing the previous CPU value used on the Processes page.

This build addresses several issues, including a bug that caused popular games like Roblox to crash on launch, a printing issue that led to a green screen error, and a search window crash when searching from the taskbar. Other fixes include improving color profile loading after waking the PC from sleep, better performance of the early boot UI, and resolution of a BitLocker loop issue.

However, this build still has some known issues. Notably, users joining the Canary Channel on a new Copilot+ PC from the Dev Channel, Release Preview Channel, or retail may encounter errors with Windows Hello PIN and biometrics. Additionally, a d3d9.dll crash is causing multiple apps to fail to launch for some Insiders.

Microsoft encourages users to provide feedback on issues through the Feedback Hub.
