Microsoft has pushed a new version of Windows 11, Build 26200.5722 (KB5062669), to the Dev and Beta Channel. This update adds impcovements to user experience with various features . This update brings a range of improvements including an enhanced AI powered agent to use to navigate settings, updates to the taskbar, and changes to the lock screen and inform center.

One of the more significant features in this refresh is now the AI agent that has been embedded in the Settings app for anyone on AMD or Intel-powered Copilot+ PCs. The agent is meant to assist users in finding and changing the settings they want to use agreements between Microsoft and the user.

For example, a user can now declare in natural language that they want help doing something like manage their PC with their voice commands or make the size of the mouse pointer larger. The agent will, if allowed by the user, can also automate actions to fix issues. This is available for users that have specified English as their display language.

Secondly, Microsoft has enhanced the Click to Do functionality, which allows users to perform tasks, such as summarizing commonly obscured pieces of text, or deleting background images of pictures. A new interactive tutorial is included in the enhancements to help users effectively use this tool. Once users finish the tutorial, they can take the tutorial again at any time to refresh their knowledge, as well as learn more effective ways to complete those tasks.

Taskbar functionality is also vastly improved and enhanced in this update, especially for enterprise users. For example, when IT admins set a pinning policy for a taskbar, users previously had to wait for an explorer restart in order to see the pinning, and the time variable was entirely up to the OS for the delay.

With this update, that time will take around eight hours, effectively bypassing explorer restart and reducing the wait time to a fraction of what it is, and enabling IT admins to apply pinning policy faster across all corporate devices.

For those that are reliant on Microsoft Search, users can now create a new grid view for search results in the taskbar. The intention of this change is to provide users a better opportunity to identify the right image or result when searching, and enhancing the experience for any and all searching to be quicker than ever.

Additionally, Microsoft has further enabled the Notification Center to be functional enough to offer calendar information on secondary monitors, as well as the option to show a larger clock that even includes seconds in Notification Center. That also enables Notification Center to become even more functional by offering the user more information across devices, providing useful information across screens.

Moreover, Task Manager has been updated to how it calculates CPU usage on its various pages. The updated method complies with industry standards, presenting a clearer picture of CPU workloads. A new “CPU Utility” column has been introduced, giving users the possibility to reference the previous way of calculating CPU utilization, should they prefer the previous measure.
