Windows 11’s Energy usage within the Settings page will get a new graph that showcases energy consumption habits and their impact on your device’s battery.
Spotted by Insider enthusiast Albacore (@thebookisclosed on X), in the latest Insider builds of Windows 11, the capability will use battery data to display the level of consumption throughout the day.
Users will better understand what’s causing their batteries to drain energy. The new graph will also feature a new design, blue stripes that will get shorter depending on the level of consumption, as you can see in the featured image above.
For now, even though the new Windows 11 Energy usage graph is in development, it still contains important details that should give us a clue about what to expect: it showcases energy usage and battery level, and the graph can be customized to showcase the last 24 hours.
At the same time, it also gives users details on screen time, and it will cumulate the total time spent with the screen on or off.
Albacore also notes that the new graph is internally referred to as the Emission Monitor, which could be a clue about what Microsoft wants to do with it. The Redmond-based tech giant has already pledged to develop sustainable products and services and has even patented technologies that are specifically mindful of the impact they can have on the environment.
Internally this is referred to as the “Emission Monitor” curiously enough
The new graph in Windows 11’s Energy usage page is now available in the Windows Insider Program, which means it will probably be released in a few weeks.
