Microsoft released KB5050094, the latest build for the Release Preview Channel on Windows 11, and the patch brings some important new features, improvements, and changes to the operating system.
One of the most important ones is the 6 GHz Internet connections for Mobile Hotspot, which means users with Windows 11 devices connected to a mobile hotspot will dramatically increase their Internet speed.
The option must be enabled first to work with existing devices, and users can do so by accessing Settings > Network & internet > Mobile hotspot. There, the Network properties must be accessed, and then, in the Edit area, the new option can be enabled.
However, Microsoft says the new band requires chips that support the feature, and users need to update their drivers to the latest version.
KB5050094 also brings enhanced animations to Windows 11’s taskbar, new icons to the Windows Studio Effects area, and a new Font for simplified Chinese. This feature was added to the other Insider Channels, as well.
