Global PC sales down, including 12.6% drop in Chromebook sales, says Gartner

According to preliminary data from Gartner, there’s been a large fall in global PC sales, with Chromebooks seeing a particular decrease of 12.6%. The drop in PC sales is being attributed to the conflict in Ukraine, as well as inflationary pressures, and generally lower demand.

Microsoft dropping support for Microsoft 365 apps on Windows 7, Windows 8.1 on January 10, 2023

Support for Microsoft 365 apps on several older versions of Windows will cease on January 10, 2023. Affected versions include Windows 8.1, the three-year Extended Security Updates (ESU) paid program for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

Xbox Series X|S can now run Windows 98 and classic PC games like Quake, Half-life

Thanks to DOSBox Pure emulator and Retroarch frontend programs, it is now possible to run Windows 98 on an Xbox Series X|S, and subsequently, play classic PC games, such as Quake and Half-life.
