X Finally Launches Custom Timelines for Topic-Based Feeds
X (formerly Twitter) is rolling out a new feature called Custom Timelines. The feature, announced by Nikita Bier, X’s head of product, allows users to pin specific topics to their home tab and between them on demand.
If you ever felt the need to filter your timeline more precisely instead of relying on a single algorithmic feed, this update pushes X in that direction. Custom Timelines allow users to curate their home experience around specific interests like food, movies, business, photography, and more.
The feature includes support for over 75 topics. Once pinned, each topic opens its own dedicated timeline, letting users jump between different streams of posts without losing context. According to Bier, the system is powered by Grok’s understanding of posts combined with X’s personalization algorithm. This feature is now limited to Premium users on iOS and web, with support for Android coming soon.
Premium-only rollout with early access limits
As of now, Custom Timelines is still in early access. It is only available to Premium subscribers on iOS, with Android support expected soon. The experience is designed to improve over time, especially as users interact more with specific topics.
Besides Custom Timelines, X is also launching a snooze feature for topics on the For You tab. It allows users to temporarily hide subjects like politics or sports for 24 hours.

Moreover, the new feature is also rolling out for Premium users on iOS and Web.
