Xbox is expanding its Game Pass lineup once again, and this time it focuses on retro gaming fans. After adding more than 20 new titles to the service recently, Microsoft has confirmed four additional games for its Xbox Retro Classics collection as part of the December 2025 update.

Four new games join Xbox Retro Classics

Microsoft announced that the following classic titles will soon become available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers through the Retro Classics program:

  • Codename: Iceman – A story-driven PC adventure game released in the early 1990s
  • Plaque Attack – An Atari 2600 title from 1983 with fast-paced arcade-style gameplay
  • Police Quest II: The Vengeance – A late-1980s adventure game focused on police procedural storytelling
  • Space Shuttle – Another Atari 2600 classic from 1983 that simulates NASA shuttle missions

These games expand the existing Retro Classics catalog, which allows players to experience older titles through emulation while benefiting from modern Xbox features.

What is Xbox Retro Classics?

The Xbox Retro Classics program brings classic PC and console games to Game Pass using emulation. Players can earn achievements, compete on leaderboards, and enjoy improved accessibility while playing games that originally launched decades ago.

Microsoft says more than 1 million players have already tried Xbox Retro Classics, which explains the company’s continued investment in expanding the library.

Release timing and availability

Microsoft has not confirmed an exact release date for these four games. However, the company expects them to arrive within the next few days, likely before the January 2026 Xbox update rolls out.

With strong player interest and steady additions, Xbox Retro Classics continues to grow into a standout feature for Game Pass subscribers who enjoy revisiting gaming history.

If you prefer modern games, the Xbox Play Anywhere catalog just got 40+ new games, so don’t miss them.
