Xbox Expands Disc-to-Digital Testing to Every Insider Ring
Xbox Disc-to-Digital is now available to every Xbox Insider, giving more players a chance to test Microsoft’s new way of converting eligible physical games into digital licenses.
Microsoft has expanded the Disc-to-Digital feature to the Delta and Omega Insider Rings.
The feature initially launched for Alpha Skip-Ahead, Alpha, and Beta users. With Delta and Omega now included, every Xbox Insider ring can test Disc-to-Digital.
How to get Xbox Disc-to-Digital access
Players who are not already enrolled in the Xbox Insider Program can join directly from their console.
Search for “Insider” in the Xbox Store and claim the Xbox Insider bundle. Install the Xbox Insider Hub, open the Preview section, and join Xbox Update Preview.
New users can enter through the Omega Ring. After installing the latest available preview update, eligible consoles should gain access to the feature.
Once enrolled, players can follow the process to use the Disc-to-Digital feature with supported physical games.
Not every Xbox game supports Disc-to-Digital
Disc-to-Digital currently works only with eligible Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S games.
Original Xbox and Xbox 360 games cannot currently be claimed through the program. Compatibility also remains limited while Microsoft continues rolling out support for more titles.
That means some Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S games that players expect to work may still fail to qualify.
Xbox fans have already started tracking games that support Disc-to-Digital as the catalog expands.
The wider Insider rollout should give Microsoft considerably more testing data before Disc-to-Digital becomes available more broadly.
