XBOX Free Play Days Adds NBA 2K26 & More This Weekend (Aug. 6 to 9)

It’s Thursday, and as usual, Microsoft has officially announced this weekend’s Xbox Free Play Days lineup. The latest lineup for this weekend includes NBA 2K26, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Sports Renovations, and Wax Heads, although availability varies depending on the game.

NBA 2K26 headlines this week’s free lineup

The biggest addition to this weekend’s Free Play Days lineup is undoubtedly NBA 2K26 Standard Edition. Xbox players can try the full game for free from August 7 through August 14, with no Xbox Game Pass membership required.

You can jump into MyCAREER, MyTEAM, MyNBA, The W, and Play Now while experiencing the latest version of 2K’s basketball franchise. Ubisoft fans also have plenty to enjoy. Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ghost Recon Breakpoint are both free for every Xbox player between August 6 and August 10 without requiring an Xbox Game Pass subscription.

Meanwhile, Sports Renovations is available from August 6 through August 9, although access is limited to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members.

One game even includes a free timed trial

Indie title Wax Heads also joins this week’s promotion. Rather than offering unlimited access, Microsoft is providing all Xbox players with a two-hour timed trial.

As with previous Free Play Days events, players can purchase participating games at discounted prices while keeping all progress, achievements, and Gamerscore earned during the trial period.
