Xbox Free Play Days Brings Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, Black Desert, Black Ops 7 & More This Weekend (March 5-8)

[UPDATE: March 5, 2026 | 11:11 IST] Xbox Free Play Days is back for another weekend. This time around, Microsoft is highlighting two titles for Game Pass members, while a couple of additional games are also available for all Xbox players to try for a limited time. According to the official Xbox Wire blog post, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members can play Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and Black Desert between Thursday, March 5 and Sunday, March 8. Both games are included as part of the Free Play Days promotion, allowing subscribers to try them without purchasing the full title. In addition to the Game Pass titles mentioned above, Microsoft confirmed that FBC: Firebreak and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 are also available as free trials for all Xbox members during the same weekend. These additional trials do not require an Xbox Game Pass subscription.

[ORIGINAL STORY] We saw some interesting games coming to Xbox Game Pass in March, and Microsoft already kicked things off by revealing Wave 1 for the month. The first batch adds more variety across genres, with a mix of new drops and familiar staples designed to keep the schedule moving through early March.

Free Play Days Leak Adds Two More Games to Try

That’s not all, as upcoming Free Play Days games have been leaked. The leak comes from a Reddit user named Oliomono, who claims the next Free Play Days window will run from now until Monday, March 9, around 7 PM UTC, and include:

  • Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
  • Black Desert

Free Play Days usually ends on Mondays at 7 PM UTC, and part of the lineup can often start earlier, typically around Wednesday at 11 PM UTC, depending on the region and subscription tier.

What Players Can Expect From the Two Picks

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds offers quick, arcade-style racing built around speed, drifting, and momentum-heavy boosts, making it an easy weekend try.

Black Desert sits on the other end of the spectrum as a long-running MMORPG with action combat and deep progression systems, so the limited-time access works well for testing a class and getting a feel for its pacing.

In other Xbox Game Pass news, the service reportedly added 39 new games to its Stream Your Own Game library, expanding the list of owned titles players can stream without installing locally.
