Xbox Insider Update Brings Chat Captures, Cloud Save Restore, Wishlists Limit Expansion & More

Starting today, Microsoft is rolling out a new Xbox Insider update with a bunch of improvements across the Xbox console experience. While some features are limited to Alpha Skip-Ahead members, others are already reaching more Xbox Insiders and even all Xbox players.

One of the biggest additions lets players include party chat and game chat audio in gameplay recordings. Players can individually choose whether their voices are included, giving everyone full control over their privacy. The feature is initially available for Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring.

Microsoft is also making achievement tracking much easier. Players can now sort their achievement history using several new filters, including game name, completion percentage, Gamerscore earned, and Achievements unlocked. Every sorting option also supports ascending and descending order.

In addition, Xbox users can now restore older cloud save versions directly from their consoles in supported games. The rollout begins with Forza Horizon 6, while additional games will gain support in future updates.

The company says players can browse previously synced save versions before restoring an earlier backup. That provides an extra safety net if newer save data becomes corrupted or progress is accidentally lost.

Microsoft is also expanding the Xbox wishlist limit. Every Xbox player can now save up to 1,000 games, making it much easier to track future releases, discounts, and growing backlogs without hitting previous limits.

That being said, not every feature arrives today for everyone. Chat audio recording and the new achievement filters are currently exclusive to Alpha Skip-Ahead Insiders, while cloud save restoration is expanding to more players over the coming week.
