Xbox Insiders Get Tiered Gamerscore Badges, New Boot Up Experience & More with Latest Console Update
Microsoft is rolling out latest Xbox console updates for Insiders. As announced in the official Xbox Wire blogpost, Insiders are getting new Xbox boot-up, Gamerscore progression, and game library management.
New boot-up experience, tiered Gamerscore badges rollout to Xbox Insiders
The latest Insider update brings a refreshed boot-up experience with a new animation and updated startup sound featuring the Xbox logo. It’s a small change, but it gives the console a slightly more modern feel right from the moment it powers on. The new boot up experience was announced earlier this month by Asha Sharma on X.
Microsoft is also introducing tiered Gamerscore badges based on lifetime achievement. These badges now appear on player profiles and in the Xbox Guide, giving users a clearer way to track long-term progress.
As players earn more Gamerscore, the badge evolves over time, reflecting milestones across their Xbox journey. It’s a simple addition, but it adds more visual identity to profiles without changing core gameplay systems.
Library filters look to clear confusion
Xbox is also improving how the game library works, adding new filters to separate owned games from shared titles. Players can also more easily spot installed games that are no longer accessible.
This is especially useful for users switching between consoles or using shared libraries, where ownership status can sometimes feel unclear at a glance. The idea is to make the library easier to understand without extra steps. Notably, the update is currently limited to Xbox Insiders, with a wider rollout planned after testing.
