Xbox's New Nano Controller Is Priced at $49.99, Preorders Are Live Now

Xbox has a new controller for gamers who want something smaller, lighter, and easier to carry around. The Xbox Nano Controller is now available for preorder at $49.99, bringing pocket-sized gaming to compatible devices. It also packs wireless connectivity, a rechargeable battery, and a customizable button.

Xbox Nano Controller packs gaming into a tiny design

Announced today, the Xbox Nano Controller measures just over five inches long and weighs approximately 3.5 ounces. Microsoft says it is shorter and lighter than most modern smartphones, making it suitable for travel and everyday use.

Despite its compact size, the controller retains all 18 standard gameplay inputs. Microsoft is positioning it for younger players, smaller hands, and anyone who wants a portable gaming accessory. Its layout should also feel familiar to existing Xbox players.

The controller includes Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth connectivity for compatible devices. It also features a rechargeable battery and a programmable Action Button. Players can customize the button for shortcuts such as screenshots, gameplay capture, and other frequently used functions.

The smaller design could also make multiplayer gaming easier when traveling or visiting friends. Microsoft specifically highlights games like Minecraft Dungeons II, which supports local cooperative play for up to four heroes.

Xbox Nano Controller launches this November

Preorders are open now through the official Xbox Nano Controller store page. The controller costs $49.99 in the United States and is scheduled to become available in November. Microsoft has listed dozens of launch markets, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, and several European countries. Additional markets will follow, while pricing and availability may vary by region.

Samsung and Meta bundles sweeten the deal

Microsoft is also teaming up with Samsung for a holiday offer in the United States. Buyers of select Samsung TVs will receive the controller and two months of Game Pass Ultimate for new members.

A separate Meta Quest promotion will offer the same controller and subscription combination to eligible buyers. These bundles could make the Nano Controller more appealing to players exploring cloud gaming. With its compact design and $49.99 price, Microsoft’s latest accessory offers another way to enjoy Xbox games beyond the living room.
